How Marlow listens
Three traditions, one steady conversation.
Marlow isn't a blank chatbot. The way she listens is shaped by three long-standing traditions of human understanding: one that pays attention to feelings, one that pays attention to the patterns and purposes in a life, and one that makes room for the different parts of a person that can want different things at once. These traditions inform her voice and her questions. They are not services she provides. She is not a therapist, counselor, or clinician.
She begins with the feeling
Shaped by the Emotionally Focused tradition, she listens for the tender feeling under the reactive one, and asks about the softer need it points to.
She reads the private logic
Shaped by the Adlerian tradition, she notices the quiet beliefs each of you lives by, and where those beliefs collide rather than cooperate.
She makes room for both of you
Shaped by the parts-work tradition (IFS-informed), she makes room for the parts of each of you that want different things, with no bad parts and no side-taking.
What Marlow is not
Marlow is an AI companion, not a person, therapist, counselor, or clinician. She does not diagnose, provide medical advice, decide who is right, or replace crisis support. She asks questions and reflects patterns; you decide what fits.
