Terms
The agreement between us.
By creating an account or joining a shared space, you agree to what follows. We've kept it short and in ordinary language.
This is not therapy
Being Our Best is a reflective wellness tool. Marlow is software, not a person, not a licensed therapist, and not a counsellor. Nothing here is medical or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and using it does not create a clinical relationship of any kind.
It is also not crisis care. It is not monitored by humans in real time, and no one is watching for an emergency. If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself or someone else, call 911, call or text 988, or reach the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233. See safety.
Early access
This is an early-access product. Features will change, break, and occasionally disappear. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, and we don't promise uninterrupted access or that Marlow's responses will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation. Use your own judgement about what to do with anything said here.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. One account belongs to one person — don't share sign-in details, even with your partner. A shared space holds exactly two people, and joining one requires an invite code from the person who created it.
The conversation is shared
Everything you write in the conversation is visible to the other member of your space and remains in the conversation history. The one exception is a Note to Marlow, which is private to the person who wrote it. By taking part you accept that, and you agree not to write anything about a third party that you don't have the right to share.
How to behave here
Don't use Being Our Best to threaten, intimidate, coerce, harass, or surveil your partner or anyone else. Don't attempt to break the service, extract other people's data, or bypass its safety measures. We may suspend or remove accounts that do.
Your words stay yours
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us only the permission we need to store it, show it to the other member of your space, and send it to our model provider so Marlow can reply. What we store and who processes it is set out in the privacy notice.
Ending things
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your data; we'll do it within 30 days. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we have to discontinue the service. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes and contact
If we make a material change to these terms, we'll say so in the app. Continuing to use Being Our Best after that means you accept the update. Questions go to hello@beingourbest.org.
